An Act of the Scottish Parliament to make provision for regulating the sale of alcohol, and for regulating licensed premises and other premises on which alcohol is sold; and for connected purposes.

Comprehensive document containing legal definitions of alcohol and a list of the restrictions and regulations for its sale, along with the framework for how its sale is to be licensed and sanctions in place for infractions of these regulations.

Licensing objectives are:

  • Preventing crime and disorder
  • Securing public safety
  • Preventing public nuisance
  • Protecting and improving public health
  • Protecting children from harm.
